Ph 13/8 Mo

Ph 13/8 Mo is a precipitation hardenable, martensitic stainless steel which combines a high level of corrosion resistance and high strength coupled with superior toughness and transverse mechanical properties.

This alloy is produced by vacuum induction melting (VIM) followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR) which provides strict chemistry control and cleanness essential for critical applications.

The resistance of Ph 13/8 Mo to stress corrosion is the greatest of all the hardenable stainless steels and combined with high mechanical properties, makes it an ideal choice for extreme environmental conditions.

Ph 13/8 Mo is normally supplied in 'Condition A' (solution treated and cooled) with final mechanical properties, designated, according to temperature, H950 to H1150, from short cycle precipitation heat treatment (aging). Applications include forged airframe parts, fasteners, undercarriage and petrochemical components.
